The Eurobodalla Shire Council said all donations to the charitable fund would be used solely to assist those in the Eurobodalla Shire affected by the 2019/20 bushfires.
Bega MP Andrew Constance, Eurobodalla Shire Mayor Liz Innes and Council's General Manager Dr Catherine Dale launched the fund on January 14.
The council said the shire had been overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of people from around Australia donating items to fire-affected residents.
Shire services were struggling to manage the volume of donated goods, which were "overtaking available space and diverting focus away from the welfare and recovery of residents and businesses".
