Four girls have stolen the hearts of the Milton Rural Fire Service by donating thousands of dollars to the brigade.
Charlotte and Izzy Unsworth and Ellie and Jassy Comerford were on holidays in the district when fires ravaged the area on New Year's Eve.
The girls decided to run a lemonade stand on Windward Way, which runs between Wilfords Lane and Slaughterhouse Road, in Milton.
The girls served a steady stream of customers, raising $2,000 for Milton RFS, as traffic banked up nearby on the Princes Highway on January 2.
The girls made up a cheque and presented it to the brigade on Sunday. The girls got to sit in the truck before volunteers were paged to head off to another job.
"The support from these girls and everyone in our community keeps us going and brings tears to our eyes," a Milton RFS spokesperson said.
