Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District Health Services Functional Area Coordinator Deborah Cameron said all NSW Hospitals have emergency backup generators to guarantee they are able to provide life-saving treatment when electrical supply is affected by an emergency.

"As part of our response to the current bushfires on the South Coast, the Local Health District has ensured contingency plans are in place for vulnerable patients, who have been identified and monitored since the fires began," Ms Cameron said.

"At times, patients may require transfer to another hospital, based on their individual health care needs. As a proactive measure, arrangements have been made for Milton Ulladulla Hospital renal patients to temporarily receive their dialysis at Shoalhaven Hospital."
