"It is under control," an RFS spokesman said at 6.40pm.
He said the cause of the grass and scrub fire was unknown, but crews had "got around it".
It was reported at about 5pm.
Four trucks with about 16 people from the Broulee and Mogo brigades and Forests NSW crews attended.
The fire was estimated to be a few hundred metres square.
A firefighting helicopter passing to refuel also dumped water on the blaze.
The fire was reported to be at B Tree Road.
It was likely to be reported to police for investigation.
