The initiative, organised by St John's Parish School in Trangie, near Dubbo, encouraged all schools across Australia to participate.
St Mary's will host the dance at 2pm at their school oval and have asked members of the public to come along, dance and bring a gold coin.
All funds raised go to Rural Aid Australia, a charity that provides support to farmers and rural communities including water, financial assistance, specialised counselling, hampers, farm "rescues" and music.
Watch St Mary's students bust some moves:
St John's said they wanted to "lift the morale of everyone during this difficult time as our country continues to suffer through drought and fires".
"Students studied the song by Sara Storer, "Raindance", and poetry by Jackie French and Dorothea Mackellar," a spokesperson said.
"Living through the drought themselves, they set a goal to lift spirits in drought affected communities and knew this needed to be in a way that didn't place further financial burden on their families.
"Inspired by this song, #bustthedust was created."
