"We have even developed a new masthead to reflect an inclusive approach to artists, craftspeople and anyone interested in the visual arts," President Robert Creed said.
But the big change is to the date and venue of CABBI's 35th Annual Exhibition.
Always much anticipated by artists and the public, the "January Exhibition" has moved to December and into the CBD. Now called the "Christmas Creative Arts Exhibition" will be held at 3/5 Clyde Street, Batemans Bay, opening on Saturday, December 14 and going through to January 12, 2020.
The venue is the old 'Ned Kelly Bargains' site, facing the foreshore.
Originally established around 1875, the building has undergone a modern, industrial style renovation while retaining the sense of character of other times.
Robert finds it hard to curb his enthusiasm.
"It's one of the best exhibition spaces in town with large, open interiors, extensive white walls, polished wooden floors and plenty of natural light," he said.
The generosity of local sponsors means that the exhibition itself will now encompass 10 visual art categories and a new sculptural acquisitive prize of $2000.
"Our members work in both traditional and contemporary ways, ranging from paintings, textiles, handcrafts, digital art, jewellery, sculpture and photography, so there will be something for all tastes," Robert said.
"To go along with the exhibition there will also be stalls, coffee vendors and much more, to create a real-Aussie style-Christmas market."
So if you see a flurry of artists carrying artworks around Clyde Street on December 10, you will know what it is all about.
Ken Taber, a founding member of CABBI and local award-winning artist will open the exhibition.
"Everyone is welcome to come to the exhibition and we all look forward to seeing you there," Robert said.
And if you would like a foretaste of the artwork to come, you are welcome to celebrate with the artists at the launch of our new exhibition at The Gallery in Mogo at 5pm on Thursday, December 5, 2019.
