The community garden is a new project for the program which has seen volunteers build more than 180 raised vegie beds in the backyards of Centrelink recipients in the past few years, and more than 375 people attend vegetable gardening workshops.
Community gardens bring so many benefits into the community. As well as producing healthy fresh food, they are a great way to learn new skills, socialise, and get some exercise.
They are good for the community and great for the environment.
We are very proud to be partnering with the Moruya Anglican Parish in this project.
Applications from individuals, households or groups will be assessed by the Moruya Community Gardens Committee with the aim of assisting members of the community who otherwise would not have the means to grow fresh vegetables and herbs.
Agreements will be offered for an initial 12 months and applications are due by Wednesday, November 27.
To find out who is eligible and more information, visit www.sageproject.org.au/news, email veggiesforall@sageproject.org.au or phone 0467 558 645.

Spring fling
The Horticulture Section of TAFE NSW Moruya hosts a Spring Fling on Friday, November 22.
The event starts with a barbeque breakfast from 8am to 10am on campus, followed by a plant sale. This program brings the local horticulture industry and TAFE together to network and consult.
We will introduce you to our TAFE Horticulture staff whilst you take the opportunity to discover our facilities. Our students will be on campus to highlight the numerous projects they have undertaken this year.
We are also inviting members of the public to come along and see what the Horticulture Section of TAFE has to offer. As with the plant sale, we are proud to showcase the stock our students have propagated and tended during their studies.
Please RSVP by Monday, 18th November 2019 to Rita Flint, rita.flint@tafensw.edu.au or 4823 1890.

Shortcut to the Continent
The Moruya Red Door Theatre Company begins its short season tour of the Eurobodalla this weekend at the Moruya Golf Club.
It's Paris, 1936, and Henry Saunders is producing the concert of his life. Three famous tenors, one wife, a lover, a daughter with a secret, an over-enthusiastic bellhop, 30,000 people and a temperamental conductor - what could go wrong?
A secret liaison leads to a misunderstanding, mayhem on an operatic scale, and a grand concert very different from Henry's plans. This is our most creative play and credit goes to our wonderful artistic director, Linda Heald, for her skill and passion. You know a play is funny when your stage manager cannot stop laughing in rehearsals.
It will be performed on Saturday at 7pm and on Sunday at 2pm. Tickets at the door, online at South Coast Tickets or at Moruya Books. Performances are coming up at Narooma Kinema and St Peters College, Broulee.
