Rural Fire Service (RFS) communications volunteers had their ears to the radio, and Far South Coast agencies worked together, including Forestry, Fire and Rescue and National Parks and Wildlife.
RFS brigades across the shire were on call.
At about 11.20am, Cobargo and Central Tilba crews responded to a fire at Dignams Creek, after power lines fell.
An Essential Energy spokesman said more than 200 homes and businesses in Central Tilba lost power.
A Narooma RFS spokeswoman understood it was a small fire.
At about 2.30pm, the Malua Bay brigade rushed to a small fire, also possibly caused by a spark from power lines.
Deputy incident controller John Cullen said the fire was "very small" and burnt vegetation next to the road.
Brigade members and the property owner extinguished it.
Mr Cullen said brigades were on standby and five crews were sent to the Dignams Creek job.
He encouraged property owners to be aware of weather changes. He said they should continuously prepare their properties, not just in risky conditions.
