Emergency warnings are in place in NSW for fires stretching from just north of Forster to west of Tenterfield near the Queensland border.
Batemans Bay and Long Beach RFS members flew to northern NSW on Tuesday, November 5. A Narooma RFS firefighter also volunteered his services.
Retained Fire and Rescue members from Batemans Bay, Moruya and Ulladulla arrived in Armidale on Friday, November 8.
They would be based there for one week.
Members included Nathan Garrett (Ulladulla), Shane Halliday (Batemans Bay), Dane Biden (Moruya) and retained captain Paul Lyons (Batemans Bay).
Mr Lyons said the crew was assisting RFS volunteers, who were doing a great job.
His Fire and Rescue team would most likely be tasked to protect property near Glen Innes.
"Our bread and butter is property protection," Mr Lyons said.
"We might get tasked a street or an area the fire might be heading towards.
"We will set up on that street and put out any ember attacks or (fire) approaching on houses.
"Winds are supposed to pick up today and fire danger is up to extreme."
A Batemans Bay RFS spokesman said a strike team including three Long Beach and three Batemans Bay RFS members would spend five days protecting property in the north of NSW.
He said it was the second deployment in the area this year.
