Tuross Head men
Tuross Head Country Club men's golf November 2. The Monthly Medal stroke competition at Tuross Head always produces some intense competition and this week's event was no exception.

Adam Husband's 65 net in the A grade division resulted in a win for Adam ahead of Stephen Walker's 67 and Bob Hay's 71 strokes.
B grade players Trevor Jones and Steve Collins both had a low scores of 65 net strokes with Trevor filling first place on a countback. John Phyland scored 67 for third position.
Allen Lee returned the best card of the day, however, with a remarkable 64 net strokes to lead home the C grade golfers. Ian Kingston 65 and Graeme Sindel 67 filled the remaining placings.
Leigh Coloe, with 76 strokes, played the best off the stick round for the day.
Leigh Coloe also won the Golden Shot award for the closest second shot on the par 4 third hole with 1.17m.
Balls were awarded down to 72.
The improvement of the course, under the responsibility of Tim Watson and his ground crew, is now showing up in lower scores being returned.
Nearest the pins were won by A grade: Golfer Brad Coloe on the 4th hole with 37 centimetres. Brad Doolan was closest on the 6th with 3.09m and Leigh Coloe was best on the 7th hole with 4.10m.
B grade player Wayne Fullerton won the 4th with 77 centimetres. John Phyland won the 6th with 3.60m and Steve Collins the 7th with 3.80m.
Mick Elfar was the star of C grade with 1.01m on the 4th hole and Mick was also awarded the 7th hole with 3.50m.
Thursday's medley stableford competition was won by Brad Doolan with an excellent 42 points ahead of Dorothy Madden 40, Ian Kingston 39 and Bruce Martin 38 points. Brad Doolan also had the satisfaction of scoring an eagle on the par 5 ninth hole.
Nearest the pins were won by Allen Gannon, Brad Doolan and Colin Houghton.
Junior golfers, or any junior interested in learning some of the basics, are invited to attend the junior golf clinic which is held every Tuesday at 4 pm until December 10th.
The hour long clinic is being conducted by PGA professional Colin Holmes and golf equipment and balls are supplied. Bookings can be made at the club.
Tuross Head ladies
As Tuesday was Melbourne Cup Day, only a small field of 15 ladies turned up to race around the golf course. Division one winner was - Gail Rogers with 36 points, followed by - Gayle MacAlpine with 35 points. Division two winner was - Elsa Shearer with 35 points, followed by - Ann Ware with 31 points. Nearest the pins on the 6th & 15th went to - Dorothy Madden. The Golden Hole had only one division today & was won by - Leonie Snodgrass.
Tuross Head Vets
Another fantastic day on Wednesday, for the 66 Vet's who played in a stroke & putt event. The winner was - Paul Green with a 26 net. Second place went to - Des Jackson with a 27 net. In third place it was - Terry Challender with a 29 net & fourth place went to - Don Russell with a 30 net.
The Bradmans was awarded to - Denis Benger and the Accuracy drive went to - Steve Collins. Nearest the pins - 4th - Ross MacAlpine. 6th - S. Gardner (visitor). 7th - Annette Manton & Dave Monroe. The Putting competition was won by - Herb Muriwai with 11 putts. Ball or Chocolate went to - Steve Collins- 31 net. Herb Muriwai, Neil Watson, Rob Nash, David Williams - 32 net. Dorothy Madden, Frank Pomfret,Peg Nevitt, Richard Warton - 33 net.Ross MacAlpine, Rick Brake, Gayle MacAlpine, Teri Swanbury - 34 net. Tim Starr, Dave Monroe - 35 net.

Moruya Women
Moruya Women Golfer's played their 3rd Hamper Round Stableford on Wednesday 6th November.
Div.1's Jenny Ellis was in great form scoring an outstanding 38 nett. Runner-up Christine Edwards was also on her game with 33 nett.
Div. 2 winner Anne Harris excelled herself also scoring an outstanding 38 nett with runner-up and "putting queen" Shirley Noy scoring 34 nett.
Nearest the Pin winner's were Robyn Hawkins on the 5th and Marilyn Bingham on the 6th holes.
Judi Hebbard "let it fly" achieving the longest drive in Div.2.
Narooma Ladies
On Monday 28 October 23 ladies played stableford. Division 1 winner was Jenny Wuttke-Hayes with a score of 38 points. Division 2 winner was Ris Cheale with a score of 36 points. The only NTP winner on the day was Maureen Casswell from Division 2 on the 9th hole. On Wednesday 30 October the Narooma ladies held their Annual Presentation night which was enjoyed by all who attended.

THURSDAY 31st OCTOBER: A good field of 140 players enjoyed fine conditions with the resultant good scores. In A Grade Paul Stokes prevailed with 39 points off his handicap of 9, followed by Jim Grant on 38 points and Terry O'Callaghan on 36 points who edged out Colin Holmes on countback to take third place. In B Grade John Stahel from Braidwood off a handicap of 20 was victorious with 41 points, well ahead of Garry Ebbeling on 38 points, while Mike Shevlin took the third position with 37 points on countback from Robert Mettam and Mark Falconer. The best scores of the day were registered in C Grade where Norm Watson off a handicap of 26 headed Peter Jones on countback with 42 points to take the leading position while Derek Moritz finished third on 40 points. The nearest-the-pin winners were John Stahel on 3, Mark Anderson on 9, Jock Munro on 14 and Bill Baker on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 33 points.
SATURDAY 2nd NOVEMBER: Another good field of 144 players posted good scores despite the prevailing strong winds. A Grade was taken out by Clive Williamson with 39 points off his handicap of 8, albeit on countback from Bob Knipler. The countback decided third place where Mitch Jeffery edged out Ben Sealey on 38 points.In B Grade Garry Ebbeling registered the best score of the day by far with 44 points off his handicap of 18 for his second podium finish for the week. In C Grade Darcy Sealey assured filial superiority for the week in scoring 38 points off his handicap of 25, followed by three players on 36 points. The minor placings went to Margaret Brown and Terry Pickles with Gary Schmidt missing out. The nearest-the-pin winners were Bec Smart on 3, Jason Andrew on 9, Hal Fraser on 14 and Michael Wuttke-Hayes on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 33 points.
Following last week's final round of the Annual Stableford Competition, Michael Turner has emerged as the winner with 179 points for the best five of seven scores, an excellent total which equates to almost 36 points a round. Peter Kearney and Richard Goodridge were seven points behind on 172. The final board event for the year will be decided shortly where Jason Andrew plays Denis Fry in the final of the Captain's Trophy.
The 2019 Narooma Open will be held next weekend with a capacity field of 212 players from 64 clubs hitting off on the Saturday and Sunday, while the Fourball event on Friday has attracted 152 starters.
