Sean Wood has pulled three caravans from Boggy Crossing in the past year, including one rescue which broke his 4WD's engine mount and twisted another.
The regular caravan was driven by a couple, who had three children, while the other two were pop-tops.
"The children thought that getting stuck was fun but you could see the stress on the parents' faces with the woman crying as down there there is no phone reception either until you move three to four hundred meters away," he said.
He organised a meeting at the crossing between NSW Forestry, Department of Primary Industries and other agencies on Monday, October 28, as he feared campers were going to get stuck again with Christmas around the corner.
The river crossing is on Barren Ridge Road. Barren Ridge Road has intersections to the west on Mares Hill Road and to the east on Clyde Ridge Road.
Mares Hill Road runs off Western Distributor Road on the Clyde Mountain.
"People are being guided via the nav man systems and once coming from either direction there is no possible way to back up let alone turn around."
NSW Forestry and RFS have suggested signage be erected at the Barren Ridge Road intersections indicating caravans should not use the road.
RFS will also to look at requesting funds to improve the rock crossing through fire trail maintenance funding.
Mr Wood said he will continue to lobby agencies for an improved crossing as it was only a matter of time until something more serious happens to a driver.
