At about 3.30pm, crews arrived at the scene. It was understood the wires had been pulled down by a passing truck and strong winds.
"I believe they were voltage and Telstra NBN lines," a Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue spokesman said.
"We isolated the area for eight metres, turned the power off and waited for Essential Energy."
Essential Energy crews arrived and worked to get the power lines operating again.
Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue advised the public to be cautious when power lines are down.
"If you see wires down when driving or at anytime, keep right away and call Essential Energy," the spokesman said.
