Geoffrey Thomas Parsons, 42, of Batemans Bay, was sentenced by Magistrate Doug Dick in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, October 14.
Parsons pleaded guilty to two counts of sexually touching a person without consent, two counts of common assault, two counts of entering a building with intent, and one count of intentionally causing fear.
His sentence was backdated, meaning he will be eligible for release in May, 2020.
Parsons' lawyer John Edmunds said his client now "has an insight into his own character and behaviour, and wants to do something about it".
He admitted the charges were serious, but argued they were "at the lower end" of the scale.
He also said Parsons had no recollection as to why he committed the crime, and couldn't explain his behaviour.
Prosecutor Brett Diggins said there were a number of aggravating factors to Parsons' crimes.
Mr Diggins argued the fact that a child was present in the house, and that Parsons was intoxicated at the time required a stronger sentence.
He also said Parsons' criminal history, and the fact he was on a bond at the time of the crimes, should be considered.
Magistrate Doug Dick read an impact statement from the woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, who said she felt like "a prisoner in her own home" following the incident.
Magistrate Dick said he saw some potential for Parsons to change his ways, but said he "couldn't trivialise the matter".
He also expressed concern that Parsons couldn't explain his behaviour.
