Police say a car was in the water after an incident off George Bass Drive, between north and south Rosedale, at 7.15am on Friday, October 11.
A Batemans Bay Police spokesman said police received a report of a single vehicle accident.
He said no one was trapped, but there may have been a risk of fuel and oil contamination.
Fire and Rescue and paramedics attended the scene.
A Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the hazmat (hazardous materials) van was called at 7.07am.
She said the single occupant had for whatever reason veered off the road into the creek.
The driver "evacuated themselves".
The Fire and Rescue crew used "booms" - an absorbent - to isolate the oil leaking from the car.
They were there for about 1.5 hours. The car was towed.
