Last week we had two lovely sunny days for bowls, but I must say the wind was a little tricky and both greens quite different, either slow or very fast.
Round 1 of Drawn pairs was played on Tuesday also social bowls.
Section 1- Anne O'Dwyer and Noleen Taylor defeated Sue Palmer and Fran Lucas. Sue Morgan and Jenny Blyth defeated Carol Harris and Cecily White. Section 2- Robyn Butcher and Kim Giannasca defeated Janet McKay and Gay Biggs. Pat Biddolph and Bess Holloway defeated Gayl Vidgen and Yvonne Huddleston. Section 3- Lisa Grice and Sonia Frey defeated Pat Weekes and Sally Malone. Serena Short and Shirley Edwards defeated Raija Johnston and Alison Innes. Section 4- Tricia Wheeler and Carol Dutkiewicz defeated Val Clark and Paula Hancock. Judy Armstrong and Bev Feehan defeated Di Mooy and Tania Calder.
Money club winner on 31, Sharon Cutmore. Raffle winners, Tania Calder, Jan Shalders, Yvonne Huddleston and Lyn Hardy.
Rink winners on 9, Pat Biddolph and Bess Holloway. Runners-up, Rink 3, Serena Short and Shirley Edwards. Karen Signor, Skip on Drawn card Rink was unable to get number 15 for Jackpot.
Birthday greetings to Noleen Taylor on her 80th and Kim Giannasca 60th.

Social Triples: Thursday, October 3. Today we welcomed Craig Stumbles who was a visiting bowler from Queanbeyan. The results were decided by countback on ends won as we fielded one rink of pairs. The winners were Bob Starkovski and Mark Bryant with 16 ends and a margin of plus 13. The runners up were Dick Ziebell, Phil Versteeg, and Chris O'Brien who also won 16 ends but had a margin of plus 10. The jackpot draw went to the winning skip on rink 14. Craig Stumbles, our visitor, missed the joker and the jackpot carries over to next week. Greg Megee claimed the first resting toucher. Peter Harris and Mike Hall both won the club voucher prizes in our social bowls day raffle.
Social Pairs: Monday, October 7.There was a good number of bowlers who turned out for bowls on the public holiday.The winners were Pat Canny and Steve Hall with a margin of plus 32. The runners up were Vince Fisher and Brett Megee with a plus 16.
The jackpot draw went to Steve Hall, the winning skip on rink 4. Steve nominated Robbie Murdoch to draw for the joker, but Robbie drew the two of clubs and the jackpot kitty carries over to next week.
Fred Goodman claimed the first resting toucher. Bob Starkovski and Ron Beeley were the winners of the club vouchers in the social bowls raffle.
Presentation Day: Saturday, December 7. All Men's Club Members are reminded to keep the first Saturday in December free for our annual presentation day. The day will commence with a game of bowls, then we will retire to the club for lunch, refreshments, and presentation of 2019 competition winners.
Tomakin Twist Tops
On the long weekend and first day of daylight saving there were 40 bowlers on the greens. Jennie Hogan took over proceedings whilst her husband Steve hasn't been well but great to see him pop in to say hello.
The first weekend in November we are off to Kiama so please let Jennie know if you can attend. Crookwell will be joining us on 19th/20th October.
The Award this week went to Smiley McGregor who donned a green tutu as something green to show he is backing the Raiders.
Winners were those with lowest losing margin, Margaret Carney and Daphne Stone. Runners-up, Robyn Best and Val Toyer.
Margaret drew Rink 5 to try for Joker, Greg Megee did the honours but could only come up with 10 of Spades. Breakfast trays went to Terry Montgomerie and Daphne Stone.
Birthday Wishes to Annie Birmingham on not quite a special one and Nathan Megee 13 years.

Narooma Men
Social Bowls Winners' Circle: There were 38 bowlers on Wednesday and we played versatility, with the winners being decided by Highest Winning Score. The winners were Errol Coles, Tony Cobcraft and John McNamara (skip) who started strongly to lead 19 to11 after 11 ends and continued on with their good form to finish with an 31 to 18 win against Don Caldwell, Greg Riley and Kel Hayward (skip). Second place went to Peter Tinson and Ray Gale (skip) who were behind 10 to 12 after 11 ends before they clicked into gear to win 8 ends in a row to go on to a 30 to 17 win against Ken Burrows and Gary Murane (skip). The first resting toucher went to John Roche at 1.13, well done John what a great way to start your return to Narooma bowls.
On Saturday we had 22 bowlers enjoying the day and the the Saturday Jackpot was not won and now stands at $640, a good time to put your name down and try your luck. Tha winners were decided by Lucky Rink and the first prize went to Neville Butt and Tony Palmer (skip) who had a very close game with John Voytas and Ray Gale (skip) with the scores being level on 6 occasions including 18 all on the second last end before Neville and Tony picked up 2 shots to win the game 20 to 18. Second prize went to Mark Williams and Col Armstrong (skip) who were down 11 to 16 after 13 ends and still behind 21 to 23 after 22 ends. They stormed home on the last 3 ends to take their match 28 to 23 against Tony Fryer and Jeff McCusker (skip).
On Sunday we had 28 bowlers playing 4 games of triples and a game of pairs. Winners were decided by Lucky Rinks with the winners being Ella Breust, Kevin Calloway and John Breust (skip). They hit the front 10 to 9 after 11 ends and picked up a couple of good ends to run out 21 to 13 winners against Julie Smith, Kevin McCaroll and Darrel Goodridge (skip). Second place went to Pat Wood and Janet Murphy (skip) who led 15 to 10 after 11 ends and just held off a fast finishing Pam Grant and Bruce Rapkins (skip) to take the match 21 to 19.
Presidents Pairs: One first round match was played in the Presidents Pairs with Tony Gors and Greg Ryan (skip) up against Ron Douglass and John McNamara (skip). Greg and Tony started well to lead 13 to 6 after 11 ends and they kicked clear to take the match 24 to 11.
