Operations director Jonathon Crocker said lengthy delays could be avoided by planning ahead.
Transport for NSW has provided information about traffic hotspots and alternative road options, using trafffic data from previous years and predictive analytics.
Transport for NSW staff will also set up at the Nungarry and Wirriwin rest areas ahead of known hotspots and delay points to give real time traffic information, return journey details, safety tips and support to travellers.
Mr Crocker said delay information was in addition to the time it would take to travel through the areas on an average day.
"Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, get a good night's sleep before they travel and take regular breaks," he said.
Transport for NSW said additional message boards would display real time information ahead of key traffic hotspots.
