Warren Anthony Scott, 36, did not enter a plea before Magistrate Mark Douglass at Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, September 30.
Scott did not appear in court as lawyer John Edmunds applied for a further adjournment of the matter.
Mr Edmunds said he had received a number of subpoenaed documents relating to his client's mental-health issues.
Brett Diggins, from the Department of Public Prosectuion, had no opposition to the adjournment.
Magistrate Douglass granted the request for adjournment, and said a conference between the two parties must take place by October 25.
Scott will next appear at Batemans Bay Local Court via audio-visual link on Monday, October 28.
