Batemans Bay will host Canberra Premier Cricket side Western Districts/University of Canberra in a trial match.
Wests/UC has been one of the most successful Canberra clubs over the past 25 years. Current Australian Test player Nathan Lyon has previous played for Western Districts, as well as former Batemans Bay junior and current player Matt Condon, who has also captain/coached the side.
The match will see a number of Wests/UC first and second graders line up alongside a number of Batemans Bay players, including Ryan Hall, Sean Griffin, James Dickinson, and Lachlan Malcolm.
The match will commence at 10.3a0m, and serve as an ideal preparation for both teams heading into the 2019/20 season.
In addition to the Wests/UC trial, BBCC will hold an intra-club trial on Hanging Rock Rugby, involving all other players from the lower grades.
The Shoalhaven District Cricket Association will kick off its season on Saturday, October 12 for seniors and Saturday, October 19 for juniors.
The BBCC will field three teams in the senior competition and teams in all grades of the juniors, including two teams in the under 11s format.
Training for seniors and U16s is Tuesdays and Thursdays at Hanging Rock, while U11s and U13s train at the same venue on Thursdays. If you have any enquiries regarding playing in season 2019/20 you can contact Andrew Malcolm on 0412 475 361 or you can register at www.playcricket.com.au
