1.20pm: A Fire and Rescue spokesman describes the scene. See video below:
1.14pm: A water main has burst at the scene, but there was no gas leak. Eurobodalla Shire Council workers are shutting off water to the area so the car can be removed. Paramedics are also at the scene. It is understood the vehicle struck a gas bottle, but no leak was caused. A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said it was understood a female driver had suffered a medical episode and her vehicle had mounted the kerb. Soldiers Club CEO Paul Biddlestone was at the scene assisting her. Police are at the scene and are directing traffic.
12.55pm: A vehicle is reported to have hit a gas bottle at a Beach Road premises in Batemans Bay.
Emergency crews have rushed to the scene at the Flora Crescent intersection shortly before 1pm on Tuesday, September 17.
A tow truck has also arrived at the scene.
One lane has been blocked.
Emergency crews request motorists take care in the area and in wet conditions.
