Oh, no! We've let our Gossip Gal loose in other people's houses again...
A short drive across our iconic bridge brings you to the beachside resort of Long Beach. I say resort because it has that feel about it. Gorgeous gardens, sea views from just about every house and a lively community known locally as Longies, or Beachies. I didn't know that!
The house at 1 Clarence Street, Long Beach, has the essence of a resort. I loved the kitchen, which is really spacious with plenty of cupboard space, clean and white, a chef's delight in fact. The dining nook is cosy and very cute, just begging for social banter at meal time or a romantic night for two.
Pale wood floors and clean white walls add to the beachy feel.
It was a cool Bay day when I arrived but inside the house was cosy and warm, and the wood heater was making itself felt in every nook and cranny. It was hard to draw myself away from that nook in the lounge room. The family, dining and kitchen is open-plan so you have the benefit of those mesmerising flames from anywhere in that part of the house.
I loved the verandah off the family room, which would be a delight on a hot summer night. Three bedrooms and a lovely ensuite make this a great family home with an enormous backyard including a 'shack' and chooks housed in 'Cluckingham Palace'. You could become a Pitt Street farmer!
An internal staircase takes you downstairs to an enormous garage, storage under the house and a great laundry...I wonder how many woman have referred to a laundry as "great"?
So the bridge going up might have made you think twice about Long Beach in the past but soon, very soon, we will have a new streamlined bridge which will make travelling the short distance into the Bay a dim memory!
The big plus if you have always wanted a pet, this house comes with pets shared by everyone in Long Beach, Skippy, Randy and HooRoo! Unfortunately (or fortunately?) they can't get into your yard due to the white picket fence surrounding your piece of paradise.
