A truly wonderful event took place last week.
Moruya RFS had a celebration to remember - local ex-Moruya man, Warren Harris was presented with his 63 years long service award by Moruya RFS Group Captain Bruce Smith at the Batehaven Bakery.
Warren is now a resident of Maranatha Nursing Home and was surrounded by friends and family for his presentation of long service medal plus clasps.
Congratulations Warren for your service to the Eurobodalla community.
Happy birthday to that gorgeous gal Sandra Williams on Monday.
Sandra has a heart of gold and is so giving so she deserves a great time on her special day.
Whilst I was visiting Canberra last week I ran into ex-Batemans Bay resident Jacki Phillips, who sent a big hello to everyone at the Bay.
Jacki was receptionist at The Catalina Club and is now happily residing in the ACT.
Fear of Friday the 13th is one of the most popular myths in science.
Happy belated birthday to Moruya gadabout gal, Norma O'Connor.
Norma is usually seen out and about helping someone from the Moruya community so let's hope she relaxed for her ... 21st?
Maureen Warne deserves a big thank you.
Maureen took time out from her busy job to help a lady desperate to find boxes to help a friend who was moving house.
So, if you saw her ratting through the boxes in the alley behind the shops in North Street, she was not looking for gold, just cardboard boxes.
Congratulations to Claire Hewson who is proving to be a terrific horsewoman! Olympics next Claire!
Welcome to the Bay, Rhonda and Barry Cottington, previously Moruya residents, staying in the shire that they love.
Congratulations Brian and Marilyn Clarke of Moruya, celebrating 55 years of wedded bliss.
Marilyn, do you realise you could have been out by now and on probation?
Quote of the week: "Fear of Friday the 13th is one of the most popular myths in science, and is called paraskavedekatriaphobia as well as friggatriskaidekaphobia.
"Triskaidekaphobia is fear of the number 13."
Try telling that to someone!
