Batemans Bay parkrun's last winter run was the national 'bring a friend to parkrun' day, an initiative to encourage friends and family to come along for a walk or run, get some exercise for the body and mind, and catch up for a social coffee afterwards.

It was a great success, with 58 runners and walkers out early to participate on the five-kilometre course along the Batemans Bay foreshore.
Batemans Bay parkrun is currently looking for lots more walkers to join us. They have always had a lot of walkers, and many have now turned into shufflers and runners.
They need to fill the gap they have left at the back of the pack. They always have a tail walker volunteer, so you will always have company.
Batemans Bay parkrun is very grateful to the volunteers who made this event happen last Saturday under the guidance of Run Director Tim Cowley.
Nev Madden, Kerrie Windus, Gail Legg, Anthony Miles, Tania Cowley, Pedro Oliveira, and Jacquellyn O'Leary were those who gave up their Saturday morning. Without volunteers, parkrun wouldn't run every week.
Parkrun is happy for anyone to step forward each week to take on of the fun positions available.
Every week they need a time keeper, a barcode scanner, a person to hand out finish tokens, two on-course marshals, and a tail walker to walk behind the pack.
Six runners recorded personal-bests on Saturday: Oliver King, Victoria Schuh, Moosa Kutty, Caitlin Seidel, Mark Evans, and Stephen New.
With more than 350 parkruns now running in Australia, why not start the journey at Rotary Park on Saturday mornings at 7.50am.
It is a timed five-kilometre run, walk, or shuffle, and it is free.
