Update 9.00pm: NSW Police Media reports one person has died at the scene. They say emergency service personnel are working to free those still trapped. They expect the highway to remain closed for several hours.
Update 8.50pm: Two helicopters are at the crash scene. The Live Traffic App reports traffic is backed up almost all the way to Jerrawangala.
Update 8.15pm: The accident on the Princes Highway at Wandandian is two kilometres north of the Sussex Inlet Road.
NSW Ambulance Media reporting multiple injured people, including one extremely critically.
Six NSW Ambulance crews are on the scene, while the Toll Rescue Helicopter is also at the crash site.
Traffic remains affected in both directions
Police and Rural Fire Services crews are also at the scene.

Serious crash on Princes Highway at Wandandian

Emergency services are on their way to a reported three-car accident on the Princes Highway, south of Nowra.
The accident is near the Sussex Inlet Road turn off at Wandandian.
Reports of people trapped.
