Has anyone heard of airing mattresses after you buy them and have them delivered in a large plastic wrap?
A neighbour of mine recently bought a new mattress and made her bed up straight away.
That night she had a serious asthma attack and had to have the ambulance to take her to hospital.
The doctor told her she had inhaled a large dose of toxic fumes.
Even the next day, after she had returned home, she was still affected by it and had a sore throat and eyes.
She was told to get it out of the house and not have it back again.
Fortunately, she was able to get a full refund, but wonders why these plastic wraps do not have safety warnings.
Buyers should be told that they should air the mattress out for at least 24 hours before you make them up and sleep on them.
Jean Sewell of Tomakin has recently returned from a lovely trip up north.
Jean first went to Darwin, where she did all the touristy things like the Crocodile cruise and a Sunset cruise.
She then came back to Brisbane to catch up with some family and friends, and while there, had a trip to Bribie Island.
When she returned to the coast here, she spent the next week or so really feeling the cold weather that we had on offer.
Dianne Collins of Batehaven is really missing playing golf with her friends at Catalina.
Di has had to have eight weeks of time out and can't wait to get back to playing.
Judy and Rick Bielicki have well and truly settled in at Banksia Village in Broulee, after a move from Sunshine Bay.
Judy was at Tai Chi for Arthritis on Friday and it was so great to see her looking well.
The lovely Judy Stewart had another happy birthday on the weekend, and spent a lovely time with family.
Sounds like it was fun, Jude.
Marilyn and Gary Godwin have just returned from a great trip to Cootamundra, Illabo and Junee, where they were spectators at the vintage car racing.
Highlights were a visit to the chocolate factory at Junee and catching up with old friends from Sydney, Queanbeyan and Cooma.
At the time of writing this, we are really looking forward to some decent rain by the end of the week.
Let's hope it arrives, as we and our neighbours all around desperately need it.
