The annual Single Matchplay championship was won by Allen Lee who played Herb Muriwai in the final. Both players had progressed through the early rounds eliminating some well known district golfers. Congratulations to you both.
The second event was the Tuross Head 2019 Triathlon, a competition played over three rounds of stroke, stableford and par golf. Ian Kingston emerged as the winner with 109 points, ahead of group including Martin Booth, John Eglitis, Peter Garn and Steve O'Shea who all scored 100 points.
The club's Saturday par competition was won by Ian Kingston with a plus 4 score. Graeme Sindel filled second placing with plus 2. Peter McRae plus 1, Paul Scholze and John Phyland who both returned cards of zero won the remaining award spots. Nearest the pins were won by A grade golfer: Mark Haberkorn on the 4th hole with 6.76m. Steve Walker won the 7th with 6.65m. B grade player Greg Booth was closest on the 4th hole with 5.18m. Peter Garn was closest on the 6th with 5.21m and Peter was also the 7th hole with 8.20m. Mick Hogan was the best of the C grade players with 6.20m. Michael Kermode was the winner on the 6th with 1.61m and J. Hopkins won the 7th with 7.09m.
Thursday's medley stableford was won by Peter Mostyn with 40 points ahead of Leonie Snodgrass and Herb Muriwai both on 37 points. Paul Israel 36 points was the remaining place getter. Nearest the pin awards were presented to Ian McManus, Glen Shearer and Leonie Snodgrass.
Tuross Head Ladies
The weather was just perfect for the 21 ladies who set out to play in a single stableford event o Tuesday. Division one winner was - Leonie Doolan with 35 points, followed by - Teri Swanbury with 32 points. Division two winner was - Kaye Lunt with 33 points, followed by - Di O'Shea with 30 points. In division three it was new member - Judith McCarthy with a lovely 37 points, followed by - Jeanette Miller with 33 points. Balls went to - Ann Challender, Annette Manton, Chris Wratten, Marie Mapleson, Ann Ware, Lyn Benger, Judy Apps & Beverley Theobald. Nearest the pin on the 6th - Jeanette Miller & the 15th - Ann Challender. The Golden hole in division one was won by - Annette Manton & in division two it was - Elsa Shearer.

August 20 - Men's Mid-Week Irish Fourball. Overall Winners: 1st Robert Lomas & David Childs & Neil Lontis & Brian Tyson 88 pts, 2nd Jim Chaffey & John Falchi & Robert Kolderie & Keith Bock 87 pts, 3rd Warren Harper & Milton Morrison & Terry O'Rourke & Dennis Walsh 86 pts, 4th Stuart Helliwell & John Buchanan & Robert Dawson & Phill Wood 85 pts, 5th Terry Dixon & Wayno O'Brien & Joseph Hammond & Michael Donegan 85 pts. Ball Prize to 80.
Moruya Women
Wednesday 21st August saw 27 Moruya Women Golfers take to the fairways to play a 3 Ball Aggregate Stableford. Congratulations go to Dawn Davies, Lynette Gibbs and Pauline Nash who led the field, taking out 1st place with an impressive 88 points on C/B.
Sue Wallensky, Jenny Ellis and Pat Cooper were most worthy runner's up, also with 88 points.
NTP's went to Div.1's Jenny Ellis on the 5th, Div.2's Edith Jones on the 12th and Div.3's Shirley Noy on the 6th.
Lynette Gibbs "let it fly" achieving the longest drive in Div.2.
Tuross Head vets
Wednesday's weather had a touch of spring in it, and it showed in some of our golfers when they played in a stroke & putt event as well as the first round of the Vets Championships.
The winner, who certainly had a spring in her step, was Chris Wratten with a 29 net. Chris also won the putting competition with 11 putts.
Second place went to Ray Downey with a 30 net, followed by Les Thompson in third place with a 31 net. In fourth place it was Ross Davidson also with a 31 net.
Ball or Chocolate went to John Cox with a 33 net, Lyn Benger, Greg Thornton, Brian Smith (new member) Ian Miller, Ian Wratten all with a 34 net, Herb Muriwai, Ron Lunt, Steve Collins, Rick Brake, Ken Brown - 35 net.
The Bradmans was awarded to Don Russell & the Accuracy Drive went to Steve Collins.
Nearest the pins - 4th - Ken Brown. 6th - Ray Downey. 7th - Ann Ware & Kevin Dukes.
Next week will be a single stableford event.
