Speaking after a nine-point win, Alves said this season had already exceeded the club's expectations.
"Even if we hadn't even played the final today, this season had already been successful," he said. "This is just the icing on the cake.
"We didn't think we'd be playing finals, we were struggling to even make a team at the start of the year, so for us to feature at this part of the season is a dream.
"We want to thank everyone for their support throughout the year. Everyone's right on board with women's footy, and it was great to see so many people out supporting us today."
Batemans Bay beat ADFA for the second time in three weeks at Hanging Rock Oval, holding on through a torrid second half to win 4.5 (29) to 2.8 (20).
Co-captain Ali Ryan kicked three of the Seahawks' four goals in a starring performance to earn best-on-ground honours.
"It was pretty stressful on the sidelines," Alves said. "They were threatening in the last quarter, but we made a few positional changes and managed to hold the fort.
"The defence was pretty solid today. We had a few small lapses, but I was really happy with every facet of our game."
Alves said Ryan's performance capped off a well-executed game plan.
"Ali's played many games like that this year, but she really stood up for us today," he said. "She's a class player, so to see her play like that isn't a surprise at all.
"Normally she doesn't get forward as much, but she managed to bag a few goals today. She's mainly played a defensive role this season, but the flow of the match allowed her to get forward more.
"Our gameplan was to give Gabbie (Johnson) and Brahe (Reid) every chance to use their speed by getting the ball into our forward line quickly, and we managed to hurt ADFA with that."
The Seahawks will now take on the Molonglo Juggernauts in next weekend's preliminary final, and Alves is confident of a result.
"Molonglo are a very different side to ADFA," he said. "The Rams are all very young and fit, and they want to run the game out.
"Molonglo are our nemesis in some ways, and we really don't like playing them.
"It'll be a tougher game next weekend, and we'll need to take our physicality to another level if we want to win."
