After a trying season that saw the club combine for just 10 wins through 17 rounds, the league-tag and first-grade sides had one last chance to play in front of their home crowd on Saturday, August 17.
The Tigerettes kicked off the day at 3pm against the Pink Panthers, and got off to a fast start through youngster Isabella Anastasi.
Candelo-Bemboka briefly took a 6-4 lead midway through the first half, but Georgia Laverack's try wrestled back momentum for the home side.
Anastasi's second try was the highlight of the match, as she ran almost 200 metres in a length-of-the-field try just before half time.
Paris Backo finished off the win with a try in the second half to finish an 18-6 victory.
The first-grade side got of to a flyer against the Bulldogs, as Anthony Smith scored in just the fourth minute of the game.
Liam Beazley hit back for the Bulldogs, but tries to Jack Francis and Tom Bollard had the Tigers purring with a 16-6 lead midway through the first half.
However, the home side let the Bulldogs back into the game with a series of errors, and Grant Moon took full advantage with a barnstorming try on the half-hour mark.
Two more tries to Jack McGuire and Jake Mikula handed the Bulldogs a 24-16 lead at the break.
The Tigers kept the match tight in the second half, but a lack of composure with the footy doomed them to a 36-20 loss. Luke Barnicott scored the Tigers' second-half try.
First-grade captain/coach Brent Pike said he was proud of his side's efforts in a tough season.
"We came in to most of our games short-staffed, and for the boys to battle like they did was great," he said. "Even though we lost today, it was a happy loss.
"Today's game really summed up the entire season. We started off really well, but we let them back in towards the end.
"Having said that, we've had 18 players that have either left the club or been injured this year, so that's an entire team missing.
"It hasn't been the ideal start to my time in Group 16, but I couldn't be prouder of the players."
Pike is confident the club is building something special for the foreseeable future.
"We've got to stay positive for 2020," he said. "We're a good side, but we were let down by too many fundamental things throughout the season.
"I'll be back next year, because I think we're building something really special. We may not get the results next year, but we're definitely building.
"I've always thought one year is too short a time to coach a team, you have to be there for at least two. The boys all know how I play, and I know how they play, so I'll be expecting a lot more from them next season."
