Coach Mick Alves said first year players have adapted well to the game, each bringing a certain skill set.
"They have improved from week-to-week as they have learnt the game," he said.
"The club is absolutely thrilled with having a women's team.
"It has changed the culture and dynamic of what was previously a male dominated sport.
"It's like a breath of fresh air."
MEET THE TEAM:
#6 Ally Mathie
A first year player. She is a polo-cross Australian representative. A key defender who can play in the mids. Height: 172cm.
What have you enjoyed most about being a Seahawk?
The game, The team and the club - new skills, strategy mental toughness and the running.
What do you get up to outside of footy?
Still horses and Polocrosse along with bush and beach activities. Ticking off my bucket list.
Your golden moment of the season so far?
Hard one, I have loved every game. Watching the team grow and strengthen and win in our first year. I was happy to kick a goal too.
#15 Gemma Green
First season player. A club stalwart and reliable in defence. Height: 175cm.
What have you enjoyed most about being a Seahawk?
Normally I'm a spectator watching hubby play but got out of my comfort zone and have loved the challenge and most of all the girls having each other's backs, support and laughs!
Something you do outside of footy?
I also play senior A grade netball so it's a dash from the field to the court.
Golden moment of the season so far?
Highlight was winning against the undefeated ANU!
#21 Lisa Absolon
A first year player from a netball and basketball background. Forward/midfield. She is a tough and athletic competitor. Height: 164cm.
What have you enjoyed most about being a Seahawk?
You are never too old to learn something new and challenge yourself physically and mentally. I love the team and club camaraderie.
What do you get up to outside of footy?
I'm a part-time uni student, studying a bachelor of primary teaching. I play netty, basketball and soccer too. I love Bryce Courtney's books. I love to sew.
Golden moment of the season so far?
When I kicked my first goal.
#7 Claudia Ferguson
Co-captain. Has previously played AFL. Centre half-forward. The focal point in attack. Height: 179cm.
What have you enjoyed most about being a Seahawk?
I felt honoured taking on a co-captaincy roll with Big A; it has lit my eyes up even more to the game of Aussie Rules and proven how special the feeling of camaraderie is both on and off the field.
What do you get up to outside of footy?
I row surf boats competitively for Broulee, love to surf and explore up bush - preferably on a moto.
Golden moment of the season so far?
Experiencing a win at Manuka Oval - the change room beers and pumping tunes in the spa afterwards was a luxurious highlight with the chicks.
#14 Ali Egan
A first year player. Has a netball background. Rotates through positions in ruck. Height: 178cm.
Favourite thing about being a Seahawk?
My team mates; they're all top chicks with so much team spirit and are all absolute guns on the field.
What do you get up to outside of footy?
Hanging out with my mates enjoying a couple of bevvies and the beach.
Golden moment of the season so far?
Laura T slotting our first ever goal and the celebration that followed it.
#8 Molly Elliot
Joined mid-year. Is one of the youngest players, 15. Has had a bad run with injuries but is starting to get her confidence back. Height: 160cm.
What have you learnt and loved about being a Seahawk?
I have learnt the importance of playing as a team and I love the team spirit and support from the Seahawks.
Something you do outside of Aussie Rules?
My hobbies outside of football is representative basketball and riding my quad.
Highlight of the season so far?
My favourite highlight of the season is being a member of the Seahawks.
#9 Rosie Hurt
Team manager. Has struggled with injuries. Is looking for a strong finish coming into finals. Height: 162cm.
Favourite thing about being a Seahawk?
Loved being part of a such a great bunch of girls who get on so well together and a close knit club.
Something you do outside of Aussie Rules?
Soccer, diving and gym.
Highlight of the season so far?
Watching Laura Thomson aka BLT kick the Seahawk Women's first ever goal.
16 Tabitha Beauchamp
Joined the team halfway through the season. Has brought her basketball skills to the team and has performed well in the ruck. Height: 172cm.
Favourite thing about being a Seahawk?
I have learnt to take a few hits and give a few hits and be so much stronger. And I have been taught by my teammates how to win and have a laugh and also how to lose and have a laugh!
What do you get up to outside of footy?
I play state league basketball and love the beach. I love Batemans Bay and I'm never leaving the coast!
Your golden moment of the season so far?
When I scored a goal on my first home game it was the night game on ladies day and my teammates made that game so fun and so exciting and the best experience!
#23 Shauni Whitmore
A first year player. Goes brilliant in defence. Height: 165cm.
Something you have learnt and loved as a Seahawk?
I love the fact that each and every girl has each others back no matter what. I love how sports allow us to build trust and friendships, a bond that lasts a lifetime. I'm also proud to be apart of the first women's Seahawks team.
What do you get up to outside of footy?
I love all sports! I'll give anything a go. I also love a good book (crime, real life stories)
Golden moment?
It would have to be my first mark in my first game (3rd round). But also being put in a position that I had not played (fullback) and feeling like I fulfilled what was needed of me.
#12 Claudia Alves
A second year player. Utility player currently living in Canberra. Height: 175cm.
Something you have learnt and loved as a Seahawk?
I have loved watching everyone get together and watching everyone's encouragement.
What do you enjoy outside of footy?
I like the outdoors and love the snow!
Golden moment?
Playing a full game when we were low on subs.
#13 Karmen Ison
First year player who is doing an outstanding job in the midfield. Has been focused on improving her marking. Height: 165cm.
Something you have learnt and loved as a Seahawk?
A lot! How to play footy, never touched an oval ball before starting here. Team mates, compared to other sports nothing has been so team focused and so positive!
What do you enjoy outside of footy?
On my days off - fishing, camping etc, anything outdoors! Had the best holiday to Fiji so can add travel to that list! Love finding new places new jobs to do and exploring!
Golden moment?
Would have to be my first mark under pressure ... I have been practicing!
#10 Georgie Rowley
First year player. Heavily involved in Netball. A veteran who can sell candy. Height: 160cm.
Something you have learnt and loved as a Seahawk?
Even as the oldest in the team I have loved meeting new friends through team bonding, it's wonderful. My football skills have developed far beyond what I thought which is great.
What do you enjoy outside of footy?
Footy is my great love followed by netball having played netball for 40 years.
Golden moment?
Scoring some goals and perfecting my dodge and weave!
#1 Gabbie Johnson
A first year player who also plays soccer. Has electrifying pace in attack. Height: 163cm.
What do you love about being a Seahawk?
I love the enthusiasm and sportsmanship of our team and competitors. We all hammer each other on the field but are hugging and having a laugh with our opponents at the end.
Interests outside of footy?
SPORT! Snowboarding, sailing, soccer and skydiving
Golden moment of the season so far?
Taking two running bounces in a row. I missed the goal and got a behind, but the fact I bounced the ball, it came back to me and I caught it were more exciting than a potential goal anyway!
#2 Lynda Byrn
First year player who has a soccer background. Mostly plays in the midfield. Height: 165cm.
What do you love about being a Seahawk?
Loved being part of the First Ladies Seahawks team. It's been a privilege to become part of a great club, and team up with the best bunch of girls.
What do you get up to outside of footy?
You'll find me playing sport almost every day. I'll give any sport a go and probably have. I love to cook and it's something I do to relax.
Your golden moment?
My first mark in a game, surviving some pretty decent tackles and coming back from broken ribs.
#24 Laura Thompson
Kicked the team's first ever goal. Passionate player. Her brother Jarrod played in last year's premiership side and her uncle Brett is a life member. Height: 169cm.
What do you love about being a Seahawk?
Being a part of a club that is full of life and support.
What do you get up to outside of footy?
Going to the gym and having a good time.
Golden moment?
It's has got to be kicking the first goal.
#11 Claire Turnbull
A first year player. Defender. Has struggled of late with a knee injury. Height 165cm.
What do you love about being a Seahawk?
I have learnt so many new skills and I have loved being a Seahawk because the team is just so caring and supportive.
What you get up to outside of footy?
My hobbies are fishing, even though I get really sea sick and I love motorbike riding.
Golden moment?
When we played ADFA in Canberra I felt like the team worked really well together that day and I thought that was the best game I've ever played because I felt like I played really well in defence with my tackles.
#22 Laura Alves
Second year playing AFL. Midfielder with a good overhead mark. Netball background. Height: 171cm.
Something you have learnt being a Seahawk?
Teamwork makes the dream work.
What do you like doing outside of footy?
Partying!!!

Winning against ANU.
#19 Emily Nutt
A first year player. Has a soccer background. Full back. She has a strong mark and an almighty kick. Height: 170cm.
Something you have learnt and loved as a Seahawk?
Being new to AFL it is awesome to see how many people are so supportive and encouraging on and off the field, I have also learnt I have a bigger kick than I thought.
What do you enjoy outside of footy?
Soccer, netball and Oztag.
Your golden moment of the season so far?
My highlight would be just being able to play with such an awesome team with year and of course wining against the undefeated ANU.
Rebecca Ireland
A Netballer. Very fit player although ruptured her knee and is out for the season. Height: 165cm
Something you have learnt and loved as a Seahawk?
What it's like to have to protect a teammate on the field, creates a bond in the team like no other sport
What do you get up to outside of footy?
I love surfing, horses, camping and collecting random pets with my kids.
Golden moment?
Keeping ANUs goal kicker at zero goals on there home ground
#17 Larissa O'Neill
First year player. Has a background in soccer. Good defensive player.
#4 Ali Ryan
Co-captain. Has previously played for Gungahlin Jets. Also a soccer player. Powerhouse mid. Plays a physical game and is very tough.
#20 Jillian Lurda
Has played Aussie rules before. From Katherine, NT. Goal kicker and an elusive forward.
#5 Brahe Reid
Previously played before. Has great skills. Midfielder/wing who can also play forward.
#8 Georgie Hirst
Has previously played before. She is a midfielder and is based in Jindabyne. Dedicated player. Had rolled her car on the way to a Canberra game.
#18 Michelle Gentner
Has a netball background. Her first year of footy. An opportunist forward. Has shown some soccer skills after kicking a ground goal.
Catherine Castagna
First year player who came in late to the season. Is a basketballer. Was injured and missed last few games due to going overseas.
Aaron Wickham
Assistant Coach. Partner of player Karmen Ison. From Victoria, AFL background and has assisted with coaching.
Mick Alves (coach)
Has a lifelong interest in AFL having previously played and coached juniors, he is thrilled to be the first women's team coach. He is enthusiastic and passionate about women's football.
