A spokesperson said Transport for NSW would begin work to complete a temporary road to allow space to build the southern approach to the new Batemans Bay bridge.
Most work would be completed between 6pm and 7am on Monday and Tuesday, August 19-20.
Some work would also be carried out between 7am to 6pm on Monday and Tuesday, August 12-13, and between Monday and Wednesday, August 19-21.
From Wednesday, August 21, traffic would be switched to the new temporary road, weather permitting.
The existing road would be rebuilt to form the new higher level approach to the new bridge.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h would be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists should allow up to five minutes additional travel time.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanked motorists for their patience during this time.
