"We are still only in winter but we are seeing high fire activity, especially with strong winds making fires spread rapidly," a spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said as their crew was about to set up, they were re-tasked to a bushfire on Washburton Rd, Ulladulla with a crew from Broulee.
He said the crew was tasked to black out the fire and monitor dangerous trees that were still burning.
"After that, crews were re tasked to another bushfire on Woodburn Road, Morton," he said.
"Our crew was again tasked with blacking our the fire ensuring that there was no hot spots which could flare up under strong winds."
The spokesperson said the Batemans Bay crew returned to the station at around 6:30pm after completing 12 hours of firefighting.
"Now is the time to review your bush fire survival plan and update all information. We need to be prepared for what is looking like a long fire season ahead, stop delaying and start preparing your property now," the spokesperson said.
