The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds for people in the south-east and tablelands of NSW, including the Illawarra and parts of the South Coast.
Damaging winds, averaging 60 to 70km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90km/h are possible for parts of the Illawarra and South Coast from late Thursday afternoon.
Weatherzone predicts a maximum of 17 degrees on Thursday with temperatures dropping to 14 and 13 degrees from Friday to Sunday. Westerly wionds will continue through the weekend.
Weatherzone predicts a maximum of 17 degrees on Thursday with tops of 15, 14 and 16 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Overnight temperatures will between 7 and 9 degrees through the weekend.
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service recommends that back country travel be postponed until conditions improve.
State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
- Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
- Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
- Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.
