Both sides came into the round of 16 match with 2-1 wins under their belts, as Moruya beat Mt Stromlo and Illawarra beat Vincentia last month.
The match was played on Illawarra's terms from the get go, and they opened the scoring after 10 minutes through midfielder Sienna Saveska who had time to bury a cross from the right flank.
Saveska scored again from the penalty spot just five minutes later, and it was soon three when Hayley Cowie's classy finish capped a beautiful sequence of passing around the edge of the penalty area.
Moruya continued to defend gallantly, but another penalty for handball put them on the back foot, as Angelica Barraza converted for 4-0.
Barraza wasn't done, as she scored her second with a vicious strike from outside the penalty area to make the score 5-0 at half time.
The first half was played almost exclusively in Moruya's defensive half, and the rotation of Moruya strikers weren't able to hold the ball up against Illawarra's defence when they did receive possession.
However, the home side came out of the break with a purpose, and created their best scoring opportunity of the game after just 30 seconds.
Shayla Moreton-Stewart found herself with space on the edge of the area, but her strike hit the crossbar and bounced safely into the arms of keeper Poppy Johnson.
Moruya's play improved from that point, finding more of the ball in the midfield, but they couldn't crack Illawarra's defence.
Jazzie Martin scored Illawarra's sixth on a counter attack, before the crossbar denied Saveska her hat-trick five minutes later.
Illawarra scored two more goals through Sarah Ellis and Mya Krstevski to complete the rout, and book their spot in the quarter finals against Albury High School.
Illawarra's Jazzie Martin was awarded best-on-ground for her display on the left wing.
