Firefighters were called to assist paramedics after the woman had slipped on rocks at Bawley Point.
The woman was holidaying and exploring the coastline with her family and friends.
At about 11am, she slipped on wet mossy rocks and fractured her lower leg.
"She had broken her ankle pretty badly; the ambos did a great job of stabilizing her," a Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue spokesman said.
"We were able to carry her out in the stokes litter [patient carry basket]."
Bawley Point Rural Fire Service also assisted in the rescue.
"The green moss she slipped on is like standing on soapy tiles, with a little bit of water it doesn't take much to become slippery," the spokesman said.
"They just look like different coloured rocks if you don't know what it is."
The woman, believed to have been in her 40s, was taken by ambulance in a stable condition to Milton-Ulladulla Hospital.
At about 12pm, Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue left the scene and responded to a fire at Aztec Powder Coating Batemans Bay.
Firefighters used dry chemical extinguishers to put out the blaze in the powder coating booth.
