The water is extremely clear at the moment, so fishing has been tough for most anglers.

Most fishers are reporting seeing plenty of fish in the water, but only a few have been successful in catching them during daylight.

There have been some big trevally hanging around the hole in the wall, as well as the rock walls leading to the break wall. Sand worms were the best bait for these fish.

Bream have been quiet during the day, but targeting them at night using nippers floated along weed edges or across sand flats has worked.

Flathead have been very quiet, with only a few being caught up past the hospital, but all catches were on the smaller side.

With no forecast of rain for the next week, don't expect the conditions to change any time soon.

Tuross Lake

Conditions in Tuross are much the same as Moruya this week. The best time to fish is at night or before sunrise.

The fish seem to be feeding at night, allowing them to push up into the shallower areas to feed without fear of becoming easy pickings for birds.

Try using salted pilchards cut into cubes, sand worms, or pipis as bait this week.

If you're a lure fisherman, try down-sizing your leaders and long casting into structured areas to increase your chances of hooking up.

Moruya Break wall and Beaches

Salmon has been the target this week off the break wall and beaches, and most anglers managed to hook at least one or two fish. However, they weren't in big numbers this week, but the size was just above average.

There were a few nice bream and whiting coming out of the gutters around Pedro Point and Windsock Beach on sand worms, but that's about as good as it got last week.

Off Shore

There's been a number of nice reds reported off Pedro Point and Broulee this week. Most guys were doing well in water up to 60 metres deep.

Squid and pilchards were the best baits last week, but if you like to target reds on jigs, a few guys were landing four-kilogram fish in water on 12 metres deep.
