The Dry July Foundation is a not for profit organisation that challenges people to abstain from drinking alcohol during July to support adults who have cancer..
Eurobodalla Cancer Care Centre has a team of 11 volunteers who have put their hand up to take part and the group are more than halfway towards their goal of raising $5000.
Open Grant Funding from Dry July has supported the Eurobodalla Cancer Care Centre to design and deliver the Connections wellness program to local patients and their carers since 2017.
The Connections program is the only support and education group available in the Eurobodalla to support people affected by cancer.
Connections is run by local NSW Health staff and Community Services, linking patients and families' to their community and Cancer Care and is the only psycho-educational group available in Southern NSW that meets the biopsychosocial needs of people affected by all cancers.
"Being able to meet and talk to others from my local community, helped make going for treatment out of the area, easier, less confusing and less of a struggle," once Connections participant said.
Dry July team members Tracy Blake, Jenny McKenzie, Sarah Ralston, Michele Polach, Craig Brown, Clare Hofsteede, Nick Mason, Clare Waite, Marney Sadler, Tracey Smith and Melanie White need your assistance to help meet their $5000 target.
