After back-to-back losses, including last weekend's loss to the previously winless Googong Hogs, the Seahawks needed to respond to keep their finals hopes alive.
Respond they did, as a four-goal-to-one first quarter got the visitors on the front foot, and led to a 17-point lead at the first change.
The match tightened in the second quarter, as both sides struggled to create scoring opportunities. The Seahawks had the better of it though, kicking the only goal to extend their lead to 25 points.
The Juggernauts came out firing in the third quarter, but inaccuracy in front of goal (1.6) allowed the Seahawks to grow their lead by a point against the run of play.
The fourth quarter remained tight, but the Seahawks kept Molonglo at arm's length to run out with a 10.4 (64) to 4.10 (34) victory.
Seahawks coach, Mick Kenny, was pleased with his side's response.
"We spoke in depth throughout the week about what was going wrong," he said. "Everyone was disappointed to go down to Googong, we didn't want their only win of the year to come against us.
"We figured out what needed work before Molonglo, and we got a massive response on the weekend. We got back to the style of footy that made us successful last year."
Kenny said there is still work to do before the side is ready to win finals, but Saturday's victory was a good step.
"We weren't playing as a 22, and things weren't clicking for us," he said. "We panicked a little bit, and didn't take advantage of our opportunities.
"We went away from the gameplan, but when things aren't going our way, that's when we should be knuckling down and focusing on the gameplan."
Kenny said it would take time to build consistency with such a young side.
"Consistency is one of the hardest things to drill into a young guy," he said. "One week they have a blinder, then they're below par the next.
"I'll preach consistency for the rest of the year; blocking out the score and where we are on the ladder, and just trying to play good football.
"A win this weekend would put us a couple of wins clear of Molonglo, which will hopefully lock us in the top four.
"We'll just aim to play a really good brand of footy this weekend, and hopefully back up this win."
