"With significant financial backing and the benefits of scale, being a part of Qscan will ensure South East Radiology can continue to invest in our regional practices," Mr Swain said.
He said it would be business as usual for South East Radiology patients, but the merger brought strength, development and career opportunities for staff and the security to continue to maintain technology over time.
"There will be better access to capital to continue to invest in new technologies as they become available," he said.

"(It would offer) access to a range of sub specialty radiologists as the complexity of imaging services continue to increase and fantastic education and training opportunities for our staff."
Qscan Group has entered into a conditional share purchase agreement to acquire South East Radiology.
"South East Radiology is well-positioned for growth, evidenced by the recent grant of a full-rebated MRI license at its Moruya clinic," Qscan Group chairman Marcus Darville said.
The license - which allows no out-of-pocket cost for patients - was important for regional areas, Mr Swain said.
"Places like Moruya and Batemans Bay are remote to the big centres; the government needs to support healthcare in those towns to make it affordable for people to get the best care," he said.
"South East Radiology has always been very proud of the services we offer in regional areas," he said.
"We feel strongly that joining Qscan will only improve those services."
South East Radiology has been working on the South Coast since 1985 and has more than 180 staff from Nowra in the north to Merimbula in the south.
The doctor-owned group has offered ultrasound, MRI, X-ray, CT and nuclear medicine for more than 25 years.
On July 1, the eleven radiology clinics completed the merger with Qscan.
Mr Swain estimated South East Radiology had invested $6 million into the Batemans Bay and Moruya region over the past two years.
"It's a guarantee that we can continue to maintain and improve our technology into the future so we can provide the best services," he said.
"It's really important to us that these rural areas can continue to maintain technology over time."
