Moruya Racing Pigeon Club held its third race of the season on July 2, from Eden. New member from Ulladulla, Craig Price, travelled the distance to release 174 birds - a big "thankyou" to Craig from the club.
Conditions weren't ideal, with low visibility for the birds, followed by strong nor-east head winds.
The races have been close, but Manny Gozo Byrne's first bird was first - his second win in a row. Muzzas birds were close for 2nd, then Bruce CC King came 3rd. Last week, 245 pigeons were released from Tathra. Manny was 1st, Bruce 2nd and Graham Ford 3rd.
All pigeons have a life ring on their legs, with an ID number and a phone number for the ring secretary. Lost or injured birds can be returned to their owners, who would be overjoyed.
