A Eurobodalla RFS spokesperson said the fire was initially reported as being close to a house.
He said the fire was no longer a risk and under control.
Bingie, Moruya and Broulee RFS crews and Fire and Rescue were at the scene.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.
The spokesperson said the wind was "drying things out" and made fires more difficult to extinguish.
He said to refrain from burning during this week's windy weather and check any piles to make sure they were fully extinguished.
