Cricket NSW, in conjunction with the three cricket clubs, local schools and the Eurobodalla Shire Council, has released a draft strategy outlining the key principles to help grow cricket participation over the next three years and beyond.

The strategy is open for comment for members of the community until Wednesday, July 17.
The council said the strategy was launched at a community workshop held at Moruya Golf Club on March 25, where local stakeholders were presented with trends in cricket and discussed the needs of the cricket community.
The workshop provided an opportunity for those in attendance to identify key issues and then develop and discuss key ideas on how to address identified issues.
The council said one primary outcome from the workshop was the identification that each cricket club was the hub of their community and each club could be aligned to shire precincts as per the council's Recreation and Open Space Strategy.
As a result of the data and themes emerged from the workshop, 15 focus areas emerged and were aligned to four strategic pillars that focus on:
- Growing school programs and aligning them to club cricket
- Developing a pathway to provide participation opportunities for players of all levels
- Providing support, encouragement and enabling volunteers to provide a positive environment for members and participants
- Building and maintaining suitable amenities to meet the current and future needs of the sport
The ideas presented in the strategy would be implemented with the assistance of Cricket NSW.
Southern Eurobodalla Cricket Club secretary, Matt Klose, said the strategy would assist with sustaining and growing club cricket participation.
"As a club, we are excited about the actions and outcomes outlined in the strategy and really believe in the benefits of being involved in something like this at a local level," he said.
"It has been great having the support of Cricket NSW and the Council throughout the process and shows that everyone is committed to growing cricket in all areas of the shire over the next three years and beyond."
