Crews were originally called to a large oil spill in Mossy Point at 8.51am after a truck broke its hydraulic line.
A Fire and Rescue spokesperson said RFS was originally called to the incident, but determined the spill was a hazmat job.
Firefighters, along with a crew working at a nearby residence, completely covered the spill, then picked up all material used to absorb the oil.
The spokesperson said crews managed to prevent the spill entering any drains.
Then, at 4.21pm, Moruya Fire and Rescue was called to a car fire on Albert Street, Moruya.
The car was partially destroyed by fire when crews arrived, and the blaze was extinguished using a high-pressure hose reel.
