Thats the day the Eurobodalla Special Olympian shook hands and shared his story with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The Batemans Bay librarian and Special Olympics Ambassador was one of only a few hundred VIPs invited to the royal welcome for Prince William and his wife Kate at the Sydney Opera House.
There were 368 people there, a still-excited Mr Radford said.
I was one of the three athletes representing Special Olympics Australia.
I shook their hands. We talked for about ten minutes about Special Olympics and my involvement and what I do.
They said, Can you tell us a bit about what you do in Special Olympics?
They knew about Special Olympics.
They really cared about people with disabilities and it was fantastic.
They were very nice people.
Mr Radford, diagnosed on the autism spectrum, said he had not stopped telling people about the day.
I am too excited, he said.
Already a fan of all things Royal, the Duke and Duchess have now leaped to the head of Mr Radfords list.
Mr Radford has competed in cricket and ten-bowling at the Special Olympics and other national and international events.
However, he said his special skill was remembering things and knowing about cars and things like that.
We are all talented in our own way, he said.
He has worked at the Batemans Bay Library for 12 years.
I work Monday to Friday, four hours, 20 hours a week, he said.
It is fantastic.
He said he loved the job because I put all the books back on the shelves in the right place.
He maintains a childhood love of cars, pointing out his silver 2007 Holden Commodore Omega in the library car park, and said he still liked collecting facts, toy cars and car-related cards.
Mr Radford then commenced a line of questioning of his own and by the time the Bay Post/Moruya Examiner left, he had ascertained the make, model, colour and age of this reporters current and previous vehicles all with royal courtesy.
