So, if you are like me and have watched the new luxury apartments at 30 Golf Links Drive emerge from the earth, you are probably thinking ... I wonder what they are like inside?
Well, they are fabulous!
On the weekend, I had the pleasure of strolling through one of the (only) two apartments left on the market.
I rode like royalty up to the display unit in a quiet lift - no trekking upstairs for the residents of this apartment block!
Spacious, beautifully finished with everything "top end", the kind of apartments you see in glossy magazines with models from Paris draped over the balconies, but right here in our town!
The outside colour emphasises location, all blue, sand and gold just like our fabulous beaches.
The inside is all ultra modern with square-cut plaster, Miele appliances and a glossy kitchen you could use as a make-up mirror.
Porcelain tiles on the floors, twist pile carpet in the bedrooms, quartz stone kitchen benches, the list goes on and on!
The bathrooms are also spacious with a white tub I longed to fill with strawberries and cream bath foam and perhaps enjoy a glass of champagne.
I even felt like calling for the butler to refill it.
Even the laundry is large for an apartment. Nothing is spared.
The apartments ooze opulence, style and glamour.
I stepped out onto the spacious balcony just as a motor bike went past below, which was a bit off-putting but as soon as I came inside and closed the door, peace!
So quiet. I knew there were already owners in residence but, not only did I not see them, I could not hear them either!
The whole complex has been sound proofed for absolute privacy.
Security has been well maintained within the building as the lift will only allow you to access your floor unless you are invited to another floor, perhaps for cocktails on the balcony.
The views from the balcony are perhaps the best in the Bay.
Looking north, your vista is the Bay, looking south, you have the Catalina Golf course and its resident mob of kangaroos.
As I left the apartments and looked back up at the bright sunny colours and the fine architecture, I thought to myself, if you owned one of these apartments you would know that you had "made it" in this chaotic world and you would feel at peace knowing you had a luxurious sanctuary to come home to.
