Tuross Head men
Saturday June 15. Tuross Head Country Club men golfers competed in a par event this week with Reginald Apps emerging as the winner with a score of plus 3. Frank Pomfret was a close second with plus 2. Rex Wood and Russel Taylor both handed in cards of plus 1 and Peter Garn's even score filled the remaining award positions. Nearest the pins were won by: A grade player Paul Ferguson who was closest on the 4th hole with 2.71m and Paul also won the 6th hole with 1.1m. Dave Bray was best on the 7th hole with 8.36m. B grade golfer Reginald Apps was best on the 4th hole with 1.67m. Jim Wade scored 2.3m on the 6th and Andrew Gordon was awarded the 7th with 8.03m. In C grade division, Graeme Bell won the 4th hole with 2.84m and C.T. Milliken the 6th with 6.3m. Thursday's medley stableford was won by Allen Gannon with 40 points ahead of Ron Rogers 37, Jim Wade and David Schmid who both scored 36 points. Nearest the pins were awarded to Ian Miller, Peter Garn and Colin Houghton.

Tuross Head Ladies
Tuesday's game was a 4bbb par event with 20 starters. The winning team were Judy Apps & Kaye Lunt with a +8, followed in second place by Lyn Benger & Shirley Quinlan with a +6. Balls went to Dorothy Madden & Jennifer Gray, Teri Swanbury & Beverley Theobald, Annette Manton & Wendy Schmid, Gayle MacAlpine & Ann Challender. Nearest the pin on the 6th Leonie Snodgrass & on the 15th Teri Swanbury. The Golden hole in division one went to Gayle MacAlpine & in division two it was Dorothy Madden. Last Friday the Tuross Ladies took part in the Narooma Challenge Bowl and we are pleased to say Tuross won the event for the fourth time.

It was great to see 62 starters turn up on such a chilly morning on Wednesday, to play in a stroke & putt event. The winner was a very happy Solveig Olsson with a 31 net, in second place it was Neil Mather with a 32 net. Third place went to Chris Wratten with a 33 net & in fourth place it was Kath Crossling also with a 33 net. The Bradmans was awarded to Geoff Bellingham and the Accuracy Drive went to Terry Lunn. Nearest the pins - 4th Kay McLeod, 6th Greg Smith, 7th Teri Swanbury & Peter McRae. The putting was won by Herb Muriwai with 13 putts. Ball or chocolate went to Frank Pomfret 33 net. Moruya Women
Wednesday, June 19, saw 36 Moruya Women Golfer's brave a frosty and chilly start to the day to play the 2nd Round in the Foursomes Championships. In a highly contested round, Div.1's Dee Meek and Sharon Knight were the well deserved winner's of the day scoring an outstanding 76 nett, with hot contender's and runners-up Robyn Hawkins and Melinda Ashbury scoring 77.5 nett. Viv Thornett and Joan Hosking led the way for Div.2 scoring an impressive 76.5 nett, whilst runners-up Lynette Gibbs and Edith Jones scored a notable 77 nett. NTP's on the 6th were Dee Meek and Sharon Knight.
