This week saw the return of summer, with temperatures around 22 degrees which got a few fishers out and about both off the banks and in the boats.
Reports of flathead, bream, tailor and salmon were common this week for both bait and lure anglers.
The best places for fish are the flats around Garland Town and the boulders around the hospital.
These areas are producing the better-sized bream and flathead, with some fishers reporting 60-centimetre flathead.
Whiting are harder to get this week, but an unweighted nipper seems to be the way to go.
The river continues to be productive for most, and the weather predictions suggest the river should fish well in the near future.
Tuross River and lake
Calm conditions early in the week made Tuross tough, but the guys targeting fish in structure got the rewards with big bream coming from the oyster leases, and some cracking estuary perch among the bream.
Blading in the lake is producing nice fish, with the guys doing well highlighting the need to use sounders to find the tightly bunched-up schools of fish.
The mouth of the system is producing quality whiting and flathead over the back end of the entrance, with several anglers reporting healthy bags of flathead, whiting and tailor. Baits they are using are sand worms, pipis, and some cubed pilchards.
Lures are also very productive for the flathead.
Moruya Break wall and local beaches
The break wall has been a productive area this week, with good schools of salmon and tailor cruising past regularly. These fish are feeding on everything from pilchard baits to metal lures, creating a lot of fun for most fishers.
There have been reports of large rock cod hanging around the break wall, causing all types of havoc for some anglers.
Fishers are losing lots of line, so it may be a good idea to bring out the heavier gear for the break wall this week.
Bream are still hanging around the break wall, and are loving unweighted baits floated down to them.
One point of interest has been large luderick on the break wall, and they're smashing the weed flies.
Reefs
Kingfish have been active off Moruya this week in waters around 15-metres deep. They're hanging around the front of the system, and are chasing jigs or live bait.
Snapper turned up in close, with a few specimens coming in around the five-kilogram mark. Fresh squid was the bait of choice this week, but some were still landed on soft plastics in water around eight-metres deep.
