At 1.13pm on Monday, June 17, Moruya Fire and Rescue received a report of a motor vehicle accident on North Head Drive on the eastern side of the wharf near the quarry.
When Moruya Fire and Rescue crews arrived at the scene, paramedics were treating the female driver and the car was on its side near the river.
A spokesperson said their initial report involved a trapped woman, "however that was quickly revised as driver was able to get out".
"Very lucky escape that the car didn't end up in the water," the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the driver was checked over by paramedics and given the "all-clear".
He said slippery conditions may have contributed to the cause of the accident.
"This serves as a reminder to drive to conditions and if the road is wet it may become quite slippery after long periods of no rain," the spokesperson said.
Fire and Rescue said South Coast Police and NSW Ambulance were also in attendance.
