RMS said they would install audio-tactile line markings at various locations on the highway to help reduce the risk of run-off-road and head-on crashes.
A spokesperson said work would be carried out between 7am and 5pm on weekdays and would take about one week to complete, weather permitting.
Work would begin in Batemans Bay and continue west over four sections of the Kings Highway towards Braidwood.
The audio tactile line marking would be installed over two kilometres from 100 metres west of the intersection of the Princes and Kings highways at Batemans Bay.
Work would also be carried out three kilometres west of River Forest Road at Monga, 1.5 kilometres west of Cabbage Tree Creek Bridge at Currowan, and for two kilometres, west of Mongarlowe River Bridge at Monga.
RMS said traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h would be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists were advised to check electronic message boards for updates, drive to the conditions, follow the directions of signs and traffic control and allow up to five minutes additional travel time.
Roads and Maritime Services thanked the community for its patience while work was carried out.
