Thursday's social pairs winners were Fred Goodman and Ian Standish and the runners-up were Laurie Fayle and Peter Jeffs.
No bowls on Saturday due to the open ladies tournament. Nominations are now open for the Minor Singles and Veterans Singles championships. These close on June 28.
Malua Bay Women
Last Tuesday there were 46 bowlers on the greens on another beautiful winter's day with not a cloud in the sky.
Winners on 3 points a win + 1 point an end Jeanette Roberts, Sonia Frey, Jean Beeley.
Runners-up Bev McKague, Judy Davis and Paula Hancock.
Other winning teams: Serena Short and Kim Giannasca. Pat Biddolph, Jan Tonks and Noleen Taylor. Di Standish, Sue Morgan and Sue Beavan. Carmel Price, Sharon Cutmore and Helen Rees. Robyn Butcher, Sue Palmer and Fran Lucas, Tricia Wheeler, Gay Biggs and Nancy White.
Friendly Friday: only 18 bowlers on the green. Winners Alison Innes and Jeanette Whalley. Money club winner Helen Szendeleit. No jackpot won.
Malua Bay Open Triples Carnival:
What a wonderful weekend of bowls at Club Malua, and the rain held off until all games were finished. President Robyn Butcher welcomed all teams from Canberra, Queanbeyan, Sussex Inlet, Mollymook, Milton/Ulladulla, Tomakin, Tuross Head and Malua Bay.
Best 1st day winners, Malua Bay, June Williams, Pat Weekes and Gwen Ware. Best 2nd day winners, Queanbeyan, Linda Nankervis, Cheryl Momson and Heather Star.
Moruya Saturday golf
The Moruya Saturday Golfers played a Single Stableford event on June 15 with the follwing results.
A Grade 1st Michael Ryan with 39 nett, 2nd Roger Dannock with 37 nett. B Grade 1st Graham Cowdroy with 40 nett, 2nd Franco Munda with 39 nett. C Grade 1st John Cosgrave with 40 nett, 2nd Dennis Goodrum with 34 nett C/B. D Grade 1st Gil Arnold with 39 nett, 2nd Jeff Hopkins with 37 nett.
Golden Shot was won by Peter Collins.
Tomakin Twist Tops
Another great weekend of bowls for all those present at Twisties last Sunday morning. Winners were those with most number of winning ends, Ute Krook and Dick Ziebell. Runners-up, Margaret Vogel and Helena Megee.
Breakfast trays won by Maureen Devine and Joan Colefax , also Tony Vogel. Bob Starkovski cut the cards for Jackpot but no Joker. Everyone welcome to Twist Tops, names in by 8am, on the greens at 8.30am come along and bowl to some great music.
Moruya Men
Social Results: Wednesday 12 June. Winners: G Diehm, D Holmes and B Strahan. Runners Up: K Hancock, J Saunders and D Burgess. First Resting Toucher: R Perrott. The jackpot was not won and is worth $693 on Wednesday 19 June.

The tournament will be conducted over 4 games of 18 ends (2 games per day). Placings will be decided on points - 3 per win and 1 per draw - followed by aggregate margin. Dress - club uniform of tournament attire. Cards drawn Thursday 12 at 8.30am - play commences 9.00am each day. Entry $120 per team. Entries close Wednesday 4 September
MORUYA MENS PAIRS TOURNAMENT:
Tier 4 National Ranking Event. Saturday 14 September and Sunday 15 September: Total prize money $3,600 !st $1200, 2nd $750, 3rd $500, 4th $400 and 5th $250. Best day winners $250 per team. DEUA RIVER TRIPLES:
Two Bowl Men's Triples Event. Tier Four National Rankings Event. Saturday 16th November thru to Sunday 17th November. Total Prize Money $4,500. 1st $1,800, 2nd $1,050, 3rd $750, 4th $300. Best day game winners $300 per team each day. Entry $150 per team. Format: 8 games of 12 live ends - 2 games before lunch and 2 games after each day. Cards to be drawn Saturday morning at 8.30am. Play commences at 9.00am each day.Results decided on points. (3 per win and 1 per tie) followed by aggregate margin. Dress code club uniform or tournament clothing. Entries close Wednesday 6th November. Entry fee payable on entry or payment on day of event. 28 entries only available.

Tomakin Men
Social Triples: Thursday, June 13.
The winners were Jim Daglish, Phil Versteeg, and Chris O'Brien with a margin of plus 23.
The runners up with a plus 18 were Bert Barker, Peter Harris, and Ken Nunan. The jackpot draw went to Ken Nunan, the winning skip on rink 5.
Ken had four cards to choose from and unfortunately missed the joker so the $510 jackpot carries over to next week. With only three cards left to choose from this jackpot must go off in the next couple of weeks.
Club Championships: Major Singles, June 15.
A crowd of over 80 spectators were at Tomakin last Saturday to witness an historical event when our two junior bowlers, Stuart Megee and Nick Tiyce, contested the final of the club major singles championship.
The scores were tied several times, and both boys displayed great skill and sportsmanship. In the closing stages of the game Stuart Megee lifted to take out the title.
Again congratulations to both boys for winning their way through to the final. Stuart Megee will now represent Tomakin in the South Coast District Bowls Association Champion of Club Champion Singles, which is scheduled to commence mid-July.
Social Pairs: Monday, June 10.
The winners were Bob Starkovski and Cor van Putten with a margin of plus 17. The runners up were Ernie Smith and Owen Roe with a plus 12.
The jackpot draw went Ken Nunan, the winning skip on rink 11. The $500 jackpot was not won and carries over to next week.
Club Championships: Minor Singles
Round two and the semi-final of the club minor singles championship is scheduled to be played this coming Saturday and Sunday. Weather permitting the final will be played on June 29.
Club Championships: Handicap and Mixed
Entries are now open for the Handicap Singles, the Handicap Pairs, and the Mixed Pairs. We encourage all our affiliated and non-affiliated bowlers to enter into these events.
Tomakin 4 Day Carnival, July 4-7.
Bowlers are reminded that there are only two weeks left to get their entries in for this popular event on the bowling calendar.
Everyone has a chance to share in the $6,600 in prize money. Events on offer include Open Triples on Thursday, Mixed Pairs on Friday, Mens Pairs of Saturday, and Mixed Fours on Sunday.
Tomakin Women
The winner of the social game on Tuesday June 11 with the highest no of winning ends were Lead Madge Elliott, Second Bev Sheehan and Margaret Carney sharing the game and skip Val Toya. Runners up Lead Di Gill second Flo Young and skip Jo Hardy. Raffle winners were Janet Smith and Joan Colefax. The 50 cent coin toss was won by Jennie Hogan.
The final of the minor singles was played today between Mary Handley and Jeanne Burggraaf. It was a very close game right up until the last end when Jeanne pipped Mary to win the game.
Our Birthday wishes go to Mary Handley who had a special birthday and Dee Beattie. The championship pairs close on June 18 and the first round is on Tuesday, June 28.
