The Brumbies proved too strong for a side from Victoria in the final, taking out the title with a 19-10 win.

ACT went undefeated in pool play, beating Central West (31-12) and Southern Districts (52-0) on Saturday, before beating Eastwood 48-0 on Sunday morning.

The Brumbies started the finals with a 54-7 win over Hunter on Sunday afternoon, before beating Parramatta 12-0 in the semi final on Monday morning.

Their final opponents, Victoria, beat Manly 27-19 to book their spot in the decider.

Lachlan said the players were happy after winning the final.

"We got a penalty at the end, and we just had to tap the ball and kick it out," he said. "You could just see everyone's face light up, because we knew the game was over and it was ours.

"Everyone was just so happy after the final whistle."

Lachlan thought he played well at the tournament.

"It was a good tournament, but it was very tough," he said. "There were a lot of big players and hard opposition.

"Our whole team played really well. Every team was really tough to beat, but we just came out as the better side."

Lachlan said the final against Victoria was the team's toughest match.

"They were invited like we were, and it just happened to be that we were the the two best teams," he said.

"They were huge, and they had one kid in particular that was massive, but they were very good as well."

Lachlan played at flanker, and regularly went up against players bigger than him.

"It's a bit scary at first, but you know once you tackle them they can't do anything until they run at you again," he said. "You've just got to get in front of them."

Lachlan will now return to playing club rugby for the Tuggeranong Vikings, but hopes to have another crack next year.

"It'll be a similar process to this year," he said. "Hopefully we'll have the same coaches and the same group of guys as this year.

"We all want it to happen again."
