Long Beach, Surf Beach and Batemans Bay crews attended the "moderate-sized" bush fire on Sanctuary Forest Place, Long Beach for about eight hours from 4.30am.
"Our crews worked for over eight hours on a steep slope ensuring the fire was out and that no properties were in danger," Batemans Bay RFS said.
"We'd like to thank the residents who were incredibly kind and supplied us with refreshments and lunch during our firefighting operations."
The Batemans Bay RFS spokesman said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
He said fires could take hold easily, even in cold weather.
"Even though we are outside of the bushfire danger period, we can not become complacent," he said.
"As it has been a long period without rain, the bush is still incredibly dry and fires will start easily, spread rapidly and burn intensely."
A Batemans Bay RFS crew also assisted at a hazard reduction burn in Tomakin.
A spokesman said to turn headlights on during smokey conditions.
A Eurobodalla RFS spokesman said hazard reduction burns around Broulee and Narooma had been successful.
He said there were extra patrols on June 3 due to forecast strong winds.
There is a very high (95%) chance of rain and thunderstorm, most likely during the afternoon and evening on June 3.
